We are very excited about our first local heritage project!
We will be learning about the history of our local area, and using the tales from our local community to create a play based on the history of our pavilion building and our local area.
We will be working with local historians and visiting the Bristol Records Office to develop our historical enquiry skills, investigating records and artefacts.
‘Communitea’ event – Tues 17th April 2:30pm pavilion hall
The children of Year 4 would like to invite you to our 'Communitea' event to come and share your stories about our local area over a cuppa and cake! Did you or your parents attend Whitehall as a child? Have you or your parents grown up/worked in our local area? Have you attended an event at our Pavilion hall? Or do you know someone who has a story to tell about our local area?
If so, we'd love to hear your story. Please come and share any stories/photos/artefacts (no matter how small!) with us to inspire our children in learning about the history of their local area. The children will then use these stories to write and perform a play (with help from Bristol Old Vic!) in our pavilion hall to our local community to celebrate our local history!
The children have had a great time learning about the history of the pavilion. All of their hard work is truly commendable! Thank you so much for supporting them through this historical journey!
