Our term 5 topic is Fantastic Plants

This term our topic is Fantastic Plants. We will be building on children’s previous learning of the local environment with a focus on flowering plants and trees. We will also be learning about different types of food our parents and grandparents ate by asking questions and drawing comparisons to today. In English, the children will be writing descriptions based on the book ‘Pattan’s Pumpkin’ by our author of the term Chitra Soundar. We will then use Talk for Writing to learn the classic story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. In Maths, we will begin learning about multiplication by step counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. We will then put this into a real-life context using money.
