Reception

Hot Weather home Learning!

·        Read other fairy tales, e.g. The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three bears, The Gingerbread Man.  How are they the same and different? Which story did you prefer and why?

 

·        Design a woodland scene.  How many trees will you have?  Would you add a waterfall or river?  What animals would you like to have in your woodland?

 

·        We have been reading about ‘The Gruffalo’ this week. Can you make your own imaginary creature of the woods?  What would they look like?   Would they be kind or mean?  Where would they live?

·        We have been looking at doubles.  Can you make some dominoes that are doubles and not?

 

 We have also looked at symmetry.  Can you find some things in your house or garden that are symmetrical?

Mrs Morgan, Mrs Mahmood, Mr Denton and Mrs Quarrell

will work across all 3 reception classes.

 

As a year group we have decided what we need to do to make reception a happy place to learn.

We decided we should  

  • Be safe
  • Be respectful
  • Be ready

 

PE:  The children have the opportunity to do physical activity everyday in our outside area.  We will have a PE lesson each week. 

Snowden Class- Friday

Skiddaw Class-  Friday

Ben Nevis Class- Thursday

Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. This needs to include shorts/ joggers and the green PE shirt.  At the moment our PE lessons will be indoors so we do not need trainers.
