Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is a government initiative which targets extra money towards pupils from deprived backgrounds. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared to their non-deprived peers. The Pupil Premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their potential.

Statement of Intent:

  • To ensure there is no gap between the outcomes of our disadvantaged children compared to non-disadvantaged in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
  • To continue to target disadvantaged children across the school to reach the expected outcomes by the end of Year 6 though quality first teaching, learning interventions and a focus on well-being and emotional health.
  • The aim of the plan is to map out how the school uses this Pupil Premium funding to actively target disadvantaged children, particularly those whose progress has been impacted by school closure and COVID.
